MIC will be hosting a Future Pathways information evening for parents in June. The evening is designed to help parents better understand the OP, QCS, QCE and QTAC processes. To help us design the content of the evening to suit your needs we have developed a short survey. You can complete the survey here:

The MIC P&F are hosting a Music Trivia Night on June the 2nd in the PCYC Hall. Tickets to the event can be pre-purchased for $10 via the MIC office – 3852 3074. The event will be licensed however under 18s are able to attend with their parent/guardian. Prizes and raffles will also take place on the night. Invite your friends and family to this wonderful event.

The National Careers and Employment Expo in Brisbane is Queensland’s largest National Careers, Skill, Employment and Education event. The Expo takes place at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Friday 4th May and Saturday 5th May. On Friday 4th, MIC students may either visit the Expo or attend school as normal. MIC is pleased to announce the latest of our partnerships. This time we are partnering with local design firm Bcreative. The result of our partnership will not only be access to some of Brisbane’s graphic designers but three of our Year 12 students are now enrolled at Bcreative for a Certificate IV course in multimedia. This will provide these students with a direct entry to a diploma course upon graduation.

Ten students from MIC are currently volunteering at 4zzz and in the process they will achieve their Certificate III in Media. They will also go on to host the Youth Show on Tuesdays. This is an exciting development for MIC and we wish them all the best. Thank you 4zzz.

We’ll be celebrating another year of success at MIC on Tuesday night. Our annual Awards & Graduation Evening will take place from 7pm in Studio #1 at The Old Museum. All family and friends, past students and community members are welcome.

This summer, it’s not safe to leave the garage. Music Industry College brings you a story of love, despair, rock’n’roll rebellion and (plenty of chest hair)- Sideshow Valley. A world where fantasy and reality mix and dreams can come true – just make sure they’re your own. For after the money is spent, the circus leaves town and the music and make-up fades, all you have is your friends and your guitar.

Sideshow Valley follows the talented indie-rock band Trash Massacre as they dream to leave the depressing suburbs for the glamorous rock’n’roll life offered to them by the representatives at Fony Records. But how much will they be willing to pay to have their name up in lights and what price will they put on their souls?

The musical, written by staff and students at MIC, was a collaborative effort and puts a new spin on the tired and traditional school musical.
