AUSSIE CLASSICS SHOWCASE 2018

We could not be prouder of our school community than right now, the recent Aussie Classics Tribute was a crowning achievement for our our students, staff, parents and supporters. Not only was the venue packed but the performances were polished and professional. It just shows what can be achieved when dedicated people focus on a common goal.

To our sponsors and supporters, thank you so much for your generosity, without you we would not be able to achieve our scholarship goals each year. Most importantly the students, I hope everyone appreciates the hard work and endless hours of practice that went in to those talented performances, wonderful artworks and makeup.

2016 SARABAH SESSIONS

Late last year we were lucky enough to take eight of our students on a songwriting retreat to Sarabah House in the Scenic Rim. The students were mentored by Robbie Miller, Aaron Shanahan, Sahara Beck and Rohin Jones. Each student had three hours of studio time to record their track. Not much time but if you’ve got the talent it’s incredible what you can do in such a limited timeframe. The songs have now been mixed and mastered and I could not be prouder of what was achieved during our three day visit to Sarabah. Have a listen and let me know what you think of the songs.

In typical MIC style the project was a collaboration at all levels. Sarabah House is owned by the chair of our board, Laurie Truce. We used the recording equipment from the school. The students wrote and performed on the songs, and Cody, one of our admin team, designed the cover art. This is MIC in action! The Sarabah Sessions are on again from 6 – 8 October 2017 with an expanded live music event on the Sunday afternoon. Book it in your diary and be sure to come along for another quality MIC event.

 

BRAINSTORM – A ZOMBIE MUSICAL


Zombies Killed the radio!
An evil mastermind has taken over local radio station 4ZMB with the intent of turning the populace into mindless zombies and to increase subscribers. Only four high school students, all bitter rivals and all from different music subcultures can save the planet. Will they be able to work together? Will they save the day? Or are we already zombies?

Every second year the students and staff of MIC collaborate to produce an original musical. 2016 resulted in BRAINSTORM the Musical.
